Strive to solve employments for 28,000 laborers in 2008

(Quang Binh Website) - With the objective of the strong improvement of business and investment environment, the Provincial People's Committee approved many Programs and the preferential policies in 2007 to lure the domestic and foreign investors, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the province.

With the active policies and solutions, in the past two years (2006-2007), much progress has been noted in the work of poverty and alleviation and job creation for laborers, helping poor households stabilize their production and lives. So far, the whole province has supported 1,853 houses with total investment capital of VND 20,802 million, of which 1,176 houses were given to ethnic minority people, 380 houses given to beneficiaries and 297 houses given to poor households.

Moreover, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of all levels extracted VND 1,654.478 million from the "For poor people" Fund to help the poor households build and repair 358 "Great Unity" houses in the whole province; delete 17,629 poor households, solve employments for 56,270 laborers.

The objective in 2008 is to continuously implement the solutions for poverty and alleviation; decrease the rate of poor households by 3.5-4%; deploy the program for deleting temporary houses for poor households; decrease rate of unemployment in urban areas by 2.01% in late 2008; solve employments for 28,000 laborers and raise the rate of laborers in industry and service sectors, etc.

In order to achieve that objective, it is necessary to promote the development of traditional handicraft careers; build trade villages; actively research the market; study experience from the neighboring provinces; call for investment of the domestic and foreign investors in building the establishments in the province's industrial zones; well implement the Program 135 for 31 especially difficult communes of the province and pay much attention to building infrastructure for 10 coastal communes funded by the Government, etc.
