Programme “For the Agent Orange Pain”: collect more than VND1 billion to help Agent Orange/dioxin victims in Quang Binh

(Quang Binh Website) – On occasion of the “Day for Agent Orange/dioxin Victims in Vietnam”, which falls on August 10, and in response of the “Action month for Agent Orange/dioxin Victims in Vietnam“, which is launched by the Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee, on the evening of August 10, 2010, the Quang Binh Association of Victims of Agent Orange in cooperation with the Quang Binh Television held a programme “For the Agent Orange Pain” to subscribe and donate AO/dioxin victims in the provincial area.

Attending the programme was Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Huu Hoai, President of honour of the Provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange; Vice-chairman of the PPC Nguyen Dang together with representatives of departments, agencies, organizations, unions, localities and businesses in the province.

A talk with AO/dioxin victims 

At present, Quang Binh has 7,444 AO/dioxin-affected victims, of which 2,860 victims are directly affected by AO/dioxin. They are suffering the pains of the body and the mind, and coping with many difficulties in their life. The donation from organizations and individuals is a significant gift, contributing to sharing the pains and losses of victims and helping their families overcome difficulties to resume their life.

Through the programme “For the Agent Orange Pain”, the Organization Board collected more than VND1 billion for the provincial Fund for Victims of AO/Dioxin.
