A meeting with KfW mid-term review mission on Nature Conservation and Sustainable Natural Resource Management in Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park Region

(Quang Binh Website) - On May 18 afternoon, the Provincial People’s Committee (PPC) held a meeting with a mid-term review mission of the "Nature Conservation and Sustainable Management of Natural Resources in Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park Region" project. PPC Vice Chairman Tran Van Tuan, head of the project’s steering board presided over the meeting.

 

At the meeting, members of the project’s steering board and the KfW mission reviewed obtained results in the past time, project implementation progress, operations of consulting office, financial management; implementation mechanism and information exchange between the consulting offices; role of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park Management Board and relevant agencies in the process of implementing the project; employment contract of foreign and domestic consultants; and law enforcement...

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman Tran Van Tuan applauded the efforts made by a mid-term review mission and expressed his agreement on the evaluation and obtained results of the project in the past time. Vice Chairman said that this was a good opportunity to discuss and put forward shortcomings and restrictions, and take effective measures to promote the progress of implementation and improve the quality of the project.

Vice Chairman also stressed that the project’s steering board and relevant agencies should try their best to overcome shortcomings, appeal to the partners for cooperation and implementation of the project, accelerate the progress of implementing the project, contributing to preserving and upholding the values of world natural heritage, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park.
