Le Thuy District speeds up work of deleting thatched cottages for poor households

(Quang Binh Website) - The goal of the five-year socio-economic development plan (2006-2010) that Le Thuy District proposed in the Resolution adopted by the 21st Le Thuy Party Congress is to eliminate hungry households and reduce poor households by 10-12%.

In order to achieve above goals, in 2008, the Committee for the Vietnamese Fatherland Front of Le Thuy District carried out the survey of temporary houses in the whole district to rebuild, contributing to stabilizing and improving the people's life.

Under the plan, this year will build 200 out of 335 houses for poor households. In the first quarter, 11 houses were completed and other 20 houses are being carried out the construction.

Besides, the District Committee for the Vietnamese Fatherland Front also coordinated with the Nation Department to check the number of temporary houses of the ethnic minority people in three mountainous villages in order to help the people rebuild houses and stabilize their life.

Above meaningful activities will contribute to improving the living standards for poor households and the ethnic minority people, helping them eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, promoting socio-economic development, upholding political stabilization and social safety and order.
