French aids flood-hit people in Quang Binh
The Quang Binh provincial Red Cross has recently received 700 tons of rice and 5,000 household kits provided by the French Red Cross to help poor households in three flood-hit districts of Quang Trach, Tuyen Hoa and Minh Hoa (Quang Binh province).
This is the second time the French Red Cross has provided relief aid for flood-hit people in Quang Binh province. It is known that in late November of 2007, the French Red Cross supported 204 tons of rice and 3,000 household kits for Quang Binh.
Estimated total value of two times is over VND8 billion, contributing to helping households, which were heavily damaged by the flood and storm in 2007.
At present, the French Red Cross and the European Commission’s Humanitarian Aid Department (ECHO) are cooperating to invest the fresh water improvement program with total investment of over VND 4 billion for flood-hit people in the districts of Quang Trach, Tuyen Hoa and Minh Hoa.
