Provincial People's Committee Secretariat to launch campaign to vote for Phong Nha - Ke Bang to be one of the seven natural wonders of the world
Attending the ceremony were Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Phan Lam Phuong; Vice-chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Head of Official Supporting Committee Tran Cong Thuat; representatives of the Management Board of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, related departments and branches and all cadres and civil-servants of the Provincial People’s Committee Secretariat.
The voting for the seven natural wonders of the world has been organized by the NewOpenWorld from 2007 to 2010 via the Internet. The first round will finish on December 31 2008. Then, the voting will continue to go forward to the next stage. In the autumn 2010, the New7Wonders of Nature will be officially declared.
Vietnam has three nominees, namely Ha Long Bay, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, and Fansipan Peak. Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park is one of three nominees of Vietnam which is in the list of voting. Immediately after Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park was removed from the natural wonders competition of the NewOpenWorld, the Provincial People’s Committee registered documents with the organizers and established an Official Supporting Committee to vote via the Internet. Until August 5, Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park reappeared in the world’s natural wonders list of NewOpenWorld after four months of being removed from the best 77 natural wonders nomination list. After returned to world’s natural wonders list, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park currently ranks the 10th in the list.

The voting for Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park to be one of the seven natural wonder of the world is a big opportunity to spread the image and people of Quang Binh in particular and Vietnam in general to the friends worldwide, contributing to developing tourism and economy; raising up the love of motherland and the pride of nation in each person of Vietnam and building the awareness of preservation and promotion of the landscapes of the nation.
As for Quang Binh province, this is a good chance to spread the image of the motherland and people of Quang Binh, especially Phong Nha - Ke Bang World Natural Heritage, to the public in the country and international friends, contributing to promoting the propagation and popularization of tourism potentials, calling for investment, raising the awareness of preservation and promotion of the values of the Heritage.
After the launching ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Phan Lam Phuong; Vice-chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Head of the Official Supporting Committee Tran Cong Thuat; representative of the Management Board of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park; leader of the Provincial People’s Committee Secretariat, related departments and branches and all cadres and civil-servants of the Provincial People’s Committee Secretariat responded and joined in voting for Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park to be one of the seven natural wonders of the world.
