Signing cooperative agreement on expanding and embellishing national landmarks system between two provinces of Quang Binh and Khammuon

(Quang Binh Website) - At Tha Khec town (Lao People's Democratic Republic), the provincial steering committee for landmark planting, led by Province Standing Vice-chairman, head of the steering board Nguyen Huu Hoai together with members of the provincial steering committee for landmark planting paid a visit and had a working session with Mr. Oday Xudaphon - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Governor, Head of the steering committee for landmark planting of Khammuon province.

At the working, two sides discussed and signed cooperative agreement on the plan for national landmark planting, unanimously approved some general principles, namely to direct related departments and branches of each province to deploy the implementation according to the scheduled plan of the Vietnam-Laos Joint Committee for Landmark Planting. The Plan for expansion and embellishment of national landmark system in Quang Binh - Khammuon and Quang Binh - Savannakhet will be carried out to plant 61 landmarks in the 2008-2014 period. In 2009, two provinces of Quang Binh and Khammuon signed a cooperative agreement to plant 26 landmarks and since March 2009, two provinces will begin construction of great landmark No.528 in the Cha Lo - Na Phau border gate.

The Plan for expansion and embellishment of national landmark system is an important project and has a significant meaning to political security and socio-economic development, contributing to strengthen work of border management and consolidate comprehensive cooperation and friendship relation between two provinces of Quang Binh and Khammuon.
