Phong Nha - Ke Bang submit to UNESCO for a second time regarding recognition as a world natural heritage
This time, the proposal is assessed of biological diversification of Phong Nha - Ke Bang, of which includes narrow endemic species, only located in Karst mountain at the height of over 700-1000m. Especially, it is assessed of global distinction of a green cypress forest on limestone (Calocedrus rupestris) mounts with about 2,500 trees, 60,000 per km2. This is the largest forest with this tree in Vietnam. Most of the trees here are over 500 years of ages.

After receiving the proposal for biological diversification of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, UNESCO will assign an expert team including top-ranking scientists to survey, research and appraise the profile’s information provided by the Management Board of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park.
