Chairman Nguyen Huu Hoai inspects flood situation in Le Thuy district

(Quang Binh Website) – On October 16, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Huu Hoai made an inspection tour of flood prevention in Le Thuy district. Chairman Nguyen Huu Hoai was accompanied with representatives of Le Thuy district and the Office of the Provincial People’s Committee.

In the past three days, torrential rains brought floods and landslides to Le Thuy district. The water level in Kien Giang River hit the third warning level. As of 18pm October 15, heavy rainfall destroyed 68 houses, of which 40 houses in Van Thuy commune, 15 in Thai Thuy, 4 in Tan Thuy, 7 houses and 2 farms in Duong Thuy.

After going on an inspection of flood prevention in Le Thuy district, Chairman Nguyen Huu Hoai asked local authorities need to pay attention to flood-hit families; help them repair houses, provide relief to affected residents to ensure that none of them will suffer from thirst and starvation; mobilize all of their staff and means to rescue victims and help them quickly resume their lives; mobilise all forces to clean environmental hygiene to prevent disease occurrence after the flood; launch patrols in affected areas and guide locals for safe travel; take measures to prevent floods, ensuring safety for local people.
