Action Month for Children 2011 launched
The launch ceremony was attended by Vice-chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Dang; representative of departments and branches; youth union members, pupils and people of Le Thuy district.
The Action Month for Children running from June 1-30, aims to create strong changes in the awareness, action and enhancement of responsibilities of the society in the protection, taking care of children, then, helping children to live in a healthy and safety environment to develop, enhancing the responsibilities of family and children towards the implementation of rights, responsibilities of children, enhancing the active and positive role, enhancing the participation of children into activities of families, schools and society.

In his speech, Vice-chairman Nguyen Dang highly appreciated obtained achievements in the protection and healthcare for children. On the occasion of the Action Month for Children in 2011, Vice-chairman asked all levels, agencies and localities to speed up propaganda, aiming at raising public awareness of the importance of protecting and taking care of children. Localities and units should organize a series of activities for the benefit of children, speed up construction of social welfare projects and call upon organizations and individuals to help disadvantaged pupils in the province, especially pupils in remote areas.

Awarding gifts to disadvantaged pupils who showed outstanding achievements in studying |
On this occasion, the provincial Sponsoring Association for Children awarded 10 bicycles, the Longevity Insurance Company awarded 10 gifts (worth VND300 thousand/gift) to disadvantaged pupils who showed outstanding achievements in their studying.
After the event, delegates and youth union members paraded on main streets to raise awareness of the community and the responsibility of the society for the rights and sustainable development of children.
