Attending the meeting were Mr. Nguyen Dang, Vice-chairman of the Quang Binh provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for landmark plant of Quang Binh province; Mr. Oday Sudaphon, Deputy Governor of Khammouane Province and his delegation; and representatives of agencies and localities concerned.

A joint meeting of the Steering Committee for lamdmark planting between Quang Binh and Khammouane

In the first six months of 2011, the Steering Committee for landmark planting between Quang Binh and Khammouane has jointly carried out the survey and built border landmarks between the two provinces. So far, 43 landmarks have been surveyed and specified the position and 35 landmarks have been planted. In the second six months of 2011, the joint Steering Committee will continue to carry out the survey and strive to plant 13 border landmarks.

At the meeting, the Steering Committee between Quang Binh and Khammouane jointly reviewed the process of implementation of border landmark planting between the two provinces in the past time and took measures to repair shortcomings and map out the plan and solutions in the coming time.

Addressing the meeting, Head of the Steering Committee for landmark plant of Quang Binh province highly evaluated the coordination in border landmark planting between Quang Binh and Khammouane in the past time and expressed his hope that the joint Steering Committee of two provinces need to closely coordinate and exchange information to fulfill the assigned tasks, contributing to building a sustainable, friendly and peaceful border between Vietnam and Laos.

Granting certificate of merit to members of the landmark plant team of Quang Binh province

On this occasion, Khammouane province presented Certificate of Merit to seven members of the landmark plant teamof Quang Binh province for their excellent achievements in embellishing and increasing the number of the national landmark system on Quang Binh and Khammouane border line.

Signing cooperation agreement

On the same day, the Steering Committee for landmark planting between Quang Binh and Khammouane signed a cooperation agreement on border landmark planting in the second six months of 2011.
