Also present at the ceremony was Mr. Vo Van Thuong, Member of the Central Committee of the Vietnamese Communist Party, First Secretary of the HCM Communist Youth Union; Mr. Phan Van Mai, Secretary of the HCM Communist Youth Union; Mr. Nguyen Huu Hoai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; representatives of agencies, unions and localities together with more than 3,000 cadres, youths and people of Dai Trach commune.

The campaign launched by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union aims to concretize the national target programme on building new rural areas in the period of 2010-2020 and emulation movement "the entire country join hands in developing rural areas" which was launched by the Central Council for Emulation and Rewards.

The main content of the campaign includes a series of activities like information and propaganda on new rural areas; building infrastructure and protecting rural environment; developing economy, building cultural life in rural areas; maintaining security and social order; developing the Youth Union and building the Party and authorities in rural areas.

Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee speaks at the ceremony

Addressing the ceremony, Mr. Phan Van Mai, Secretary of the Vietnamese Youth Union Central Committee and Mr. Nguyen Huu Hoai, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee acknowledged and praised the efforts of the provincial youth union in building emulation movement, contributing to socio-economic development in new rural areas.

Representatives of six North Central provinces sign emulation agreement

At the ceremony, representatives of six North Central provinces signed an emulation agreement "Joining hands to build new rural areas". On this occasion, the HCM Communist Youth Union Central Committee donated VND1 billion to the Quang Binh provincial Youth Union to help young people develop production and business; the youth union of the Post and Telecommunications Corporation presented two sets of computer which are connected to Internet to the youth union of Dai Trach commune.
