The event was attended by Governor and Secretary of the Champasak provincial Party Committee Sonsay Siphandon; Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Quang Binh Provincial People's Council Luong Ngoc Binh; Deputy Secretary of the Quang Binh provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Quang Binh provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Hoai and representatives of line departments of two provinces.

During the talk, representatives from the two provinces briefed each other on their socio-economic achievements and work of building the Party, government, front and union in recent years; evaluated cooperative relation between Vietnam and Laos in general, Quang Binh and Champasak in particular and discussed measures to boost cooperation in all fields in the next five years.

After the talk, two sides unanimously approved and signed a cooperation agreement on creating favorable conditions for studying and sharing experience between two provinces; boosting friendly and cooperative relationship and solidarity between two nations, especially two provinces of Quang Binh and Champasak; and paying attention to promoting cooperation in all fields of economy, education and training, information and tourism.
