Accordingly, the Plan is carried out from April 1, 2016 to December 31, 2020 in 19 prioritized communes of six districts, including Thuong Trach, Tan Trach and Phuc Trach communes (Bo Trach district); Lam Trach, Kim Thuy and Ngan Thuy (Le Thuy); Thuong Hoa, Dan Hoa, Hoa Son, Hong Hoa and Tan Hoa (Minh Hoa); Truong Son and Truong Xuan (Quang Ninh); Quang Hop (Quang Trach); Cao Quang, Kim Hoa, Lam Hoa, Dong Hoa and Thuan Hoa (Tuyen Hoa).

The Plan includes three main components of forest management, society and environment; and issues relating to management.

Total expenditure for implementing the REDD+ action plan is estimated at over VND429 billion.

The REDD+ Plan is to contribute to reduce emissions from deforestation and forest degradation, and foster conservation, sustainable management of forests, and enhance forest carbon stocks in accordance with the target of the national REDD+ action programme, ensuring economic development and social security to cope with climate change and implementing target of poverty alleviation and sustainable development in Quang Binh province.
