The event was attended by representatives of the Department of Tourism, Department of Planning and Investment, Department of Information and Communications, Quang Binh Tourism Association, Chiang Mai Tourism Business Association and others.

At the meeting, leaders of the Tourism Department shared information on potentials of Quang Binh tourism with the press agencies from Chiang Mai and the northern provinces of Thailand.

The reporters and editors highly appreciated potentials and advantages of Quang Binh tourism and made a great contribution to improving quality of services and promoting development of Quang Binh tourism in the upcoming time.

Speaking at the meeting, Boontha Chailert, president of the Chiang Mai Tourism Business Association affirmed that Quang Binh is blessed with unique natural resources and a lot of advantages to promote tourism development, especially a sharp increase in number of international visitors.

He stressed that Quang Binh and Chiang Mai would continue strengthening a close cooperation both in tourism and other fields such as education, health, culture, sport, finance and construction.

The Chiang Mai Tourism Business Association will further popularisation of Quang Binh tourism in Chiang Mai in particular, Thailand in general; strengthen collaboration to enhance efficiency of new international air route between Dong Hoi and Chiang Mai; cooperated with the Tourism Department and Tourism Business Association of Quang Binh to develop international flights in the upcoming time.

Implementing the tourism development and cooperation program between Quang Binh and Chiang Mai, the Department of Tourism in cooperation with the Chiang Mai Tourism Association and Quang Binh Tourism Association held a program to survey destinations in Quang Binh for press agencies from Chiang Mai and the northern provinces of Thailand from November 17-19.

The program attracted the participation of 19 reporters and editors representing for the press agencies in Chiang Mai and the northern provinces of Thailand.

The delegation went on a survey tour at famous destinations in Quang Binh such as Thien Duong Cave, Chay River - Dark Cave, Son River, Dong Hoi City, Hoang Phuc Pagoda, Memorial House of General Vo Nguyen Giap, Tu Lan Cave system, accommodation establishments and cartering services in the province.
