Nearly 800 Thailand tourists visit Quang Binh

(Quang Binh Website) - The Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism of Quang Binh province on March 13 held a ceremony to welcome nearly 800 Thailand tourists at the Cha Lo International Border Gate. This is the largest group of tourists that the province has so far received by road.

"A day travels three countries" tourist group of Nakhon Phannom province (the Kingdom of Thailand) has its itinerary beginning from the Road 12 through the Cha Lo International Border Gate to Dong Hoi City and vice versa. Participating in this group, there are also many high-ranking officials of Nakhon Phanom province and businesses who want to learn about potential for development of tourism, trade and transport by the road No.12.

This activity has a great significance to Quang Binh province as well as cooperation and development in nine provinces of three countries of Vietnam, Laos and Thailand sharing the road No.8 and No.12.

Quang Binh has many potential for economic development such as a convenient transportation system, especially the national road No.12A - the shortest road connecting three countries of Vietnam, Laos and Thailand; the world natural heritage site - Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park; and a long coastline of 116km with many beautiful beaches, Chairman of the Quang Binh provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Hoai said.

"A day travels three countries" ideal is to uphold potential and advantages of the provinces sharing the road No.12 and is an opportunity for businesses to seek cooperation and share experience in tourism and service... contributing to tightening friendly and cooperative relationship between countries. Quang Binh will create all favorable conditions for this cooperation and development.

On this occasion, Thailand tourist group granted a gift, worth THB50,000 to the Bac Ly Kindergarten in Dong Hoi city.
