Chairman Nguyen Huu Hoai works with Le Thuy district about socio-economic development plan for 2012

(Quang Binh Website) - The provincial People's Committee on September 30 had a working session with Le Thuy district on implementing its tasks in the first nine months of 2011 and deploying socio-economic development plan for 2012. Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Hoai presided over the working session. Attending the session were Vice-chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of related departments and branches.

In the first nine months of 2011, the district's socio-economic situation has continuously seen positive changes in all fields; many targets have achieved higher than the plan; situation of political security, social safety and order have been maintained and stabilized. The production of spring-winter crop harvest reached 62 quintal/ha, summer-autumn crop harvest reached 40 quintal/ha, regenerative rice reached nearly 30 quintal/ha. The fishery production reached 4,190 tons, of which exploiting 2,833 tons and cultivating 1,357 tons. The industrial and handicraft production value in non-state economic sectors reached 37.5 billion. The total retail sales of goods achieved VND790 billion. State budget revenues have so far achieved over VND61 billion, etc.

Regarding socio-economic development plan for 2012, Le Thuy district strives to reach economic growth rate of 10.5-11% as compared with 2011; a total food output of 87,000-88,000 tons; state budget revenue of VND65-70 billion; average income per capital of VND17-17.5 million; providing jobs for 4,000-4,300 laborers; rate of poor households fell by 3-4%; rate of ill-nourished children under five years old decreased by 21-22%; 100% of communes and towns completed primary compulsory education; 90-95% of medical stations reached the national standards on health, etc.

Addressing the working session, Chairman praised the efforts and obtained results of Le Thuy district in the first nine months of 2011 and agreed on the district's socio-economic development plan for 2012. The comrade also gave specific conclusions on some suggestions, such as construction of Treo market and Phong Lien Bridge; the solution for moving the Bang mineral water plant; supplementation of expenditure for site clearance to build Cai Cach Lake and Kien Giang dams; embellishment of historical relic of Hoang Phuc pagoda, etc.
