PPC Vice Chairman Tran Van Tuan inspects shrimp farming project on sand at Bo Trach district

(Quang Binh Website) - A delegation led by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Van Tuan made an inspection tour about the implementation of shrimp farming project on sand in Bo Trach district on August 16, 2012.

According to the report of the Bo Trach district's leader, the total fishery production in the first eight months of 2012 was estimated reaching 12,364.8 tons, up 5.6% from the same period of 2011. Of which, the exploited fishery production reached 10,711.5 tons, up 5.3% from the same period last year, including 9,062.2 tons of fish, 81.2 tons of shrimp and 1,568.1 tons of other fishery.

The on-sand shrimp farming project has a total area of 72.61 ha with 79.84 million shrimps. Total production reaches around 450 tons and the productivity reaches 8 tons/ha.

After an inspection tour about shrimp farming project on sand in Duc Trach and Dai Trach communes, Vice Chairman Tuan exchanged information on epidemic diseases in the recent time and advised local residents actively taking solutions to overcome difficulties and resume their production.

Bo Trach district and relevant agencies should provide technical supports for local residents to develop breeding and timely prevent epidemic diseases, and create all favorable conditions for local residents develop production and business, asked Vice Chairman.
