Doctor Tran Ngoc Tang, Chairman of Vietnam Red Cross Society grants Tet gifts for poor people and Agent Orange victims in Quang Binh

(Quang Binh Website) - Responding the program "Tet for poor people and agent orange victims", Doctor Tran Ngoc Tang, Chairman of the Vietnam Red Cross Society has recently paid a visit and granted gifts to poor people and agent orange victims in Quang Binh province.

In Thuong Hoa commune (Minh Hoa district), Doctor Tran Ngoc Minh granted 2,595kg of rice to 173 households in two villages of Phu Minh and Phu Nhieu; visited and granted gifts to the families of Agent Orange victims.

At the visits, seeing with his own eyes the life of difficulties, deprivation and misery which local people encounter, Doctor Tran Ngoc Tang expressed his sympathy and hoped that the gifts of the Vietnam Red Cross Society would contribute to helping the people overcome difficulties in their life.

It is known that in Lunar New Year 2008, Quang Binh province will be given 300,000 gifts from the program "Tet for poor people and agent orange victims"; 500 presents and 38,220 tonnes of rice with total money of VND478 million extracted from the Agent Orange Relief Fund of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, provincial Agent Orange Relief Fund and Humanitarian Fund.
