As many as 150 children of Agent Orange/dioxin victims in five northern central provinces (from Quang Tri to Nghe An) have been received scholarships, each worth 2 million VND, for their high academic records in the 2007-08 school year.

"Advancing" scholarship is an initiative of the “Youth” Newspaper in coordination with the Red Cross Society of provinces and cities nationwide. The main sponsor for "Advancing" scholarship programme is the Dong Tam Nutrition Food Joint-stock Company - Nutifood.

30 Agent Orange-effected pupils in Quang Binh province, who have especially difficult circumstance but study well at school, were also given ''Advancing'' scholarships in this phase.
