At the working, two sides briefly informed each other about the socio-economic development and the obtained results of implementing national defence and military tasks in 2007 and in the first six months of 2008. Two sides agreed to sign a cooperation agreement in national defence and military affairs. Accordingly, two provinces will continue to educate political thought for officers and soldiers, contributing to increasing their awareness of friendly relation between Vietnam and Laos in general, Quang Binh and Khammouane in particular; coordinate and exchange information about the situation of two Quang Binh - Khammouane border areas in order to improve the effectiveness of implementing national defence and military tasks, and build a strong armed forces.

On this occasion, delegation of the Military Headquarters of Khammouane province (Laos) visited, worked and exchanged experience with the provincial military headquarters and some army units in the province.
