According to the report of the sectors at the meeting, the April’s socio-economic situation has remained stable and developed at a fair growth rate. Until end of April, the total area under cultivation was estimated at 53,485 hectares, equal to 99.1% against the same period. The total output of aquatic products in April achieved 3,093 tonnes; the production of cultivated and breeded fishery was estimated to reach 246.7 tonnes, increased by 10.9% against the same period. The industrial production value achieved VND257.5 billion, increased by 16.9% compared with the same period. The capital construction investment was estimated to reach VND83.4 billion. The total retail sales of goods and services in April achieved VND554.65 billion, increased by 3.23% compared with last month and up to 15.83% compared with the same period. Export turnover was estimated to gain US$2.54 million and import turnover achieved US$4.769 million.

The total number of tourists to Quang Binh had a fairly high growth, reaching 52,000 turns of people in April, increased by 20.5% against last month and 161.96 thousand in four months, increased by 21.2% against the same period. The total State budget receipts in April were estimated to reach VND70.87 billion, bringing up the total budget receipts in first four months to VND275.65 billion, increased by 11.9% against the same period and reached 30.63% of the plan. In April, 42 enterprises were issued the certificate of business registration with the total registered capital of VND13.7 billion. A lot of big changes have been seen in investment promotion; there were two newly-registered projects. Also in April, the province and the central departments jointly organized a live TV program "Truong Son Trail - the way we go" on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Truong Son Trail’s establishment. This is an opportunity to express the deep thanks of the people and the nation for the contribution made by the young soldiers and female volunteers who sacrificed their youth and life on the Truong Son Trail. The programme is intended to remind young people of the previous generation’s sacrifices for national liberation and to increase their pride and love for the homeland.
Giving a closing speech, Province Chairman Phan Lam Phuong highly evaluated the obtained results in last four months and asked that all sectors in the forthcoming time have to focus on checking the socio-economic targets and solving difficulties; concentrate on harvesting Winter-spring crop and planting Summer-autumn rice; strictly deal with the forest violation cases; create favorable conditions for investors to implement some key projects in the provincial area; strengthen activities in export and tourism; cooperate with ministries and central branches to successfully organize the 50th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh Trail’s establishment.
