Provincial Party Committee: make donations to victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan
(Quang Binh Website) - On March 21, the Provincial Party Committee held a ceremony to raise fund for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Attending the ceremony was Mr. Luong Ngoc Binh, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People's Council; Mr. Hoang Dang Quang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee; members of the Office of the Provincial Party Committee and representative of the Provincial Red Cross.
The catastrophic earthquake and tsunami happened on March 11 left heavy damages to Japanese people. According to the inadequate statistics, there were nearly 9 thousand people dead and more than 10 other thousand people missing, a total damages were estimated at hundreds of billion dollars.
With the spirit of mutual affection, all leaders and civil-servants of the provincial Party Committee Secretary gave at least one day salary to help Japanese victims relieve their difficulties and promptly stabilize their lives. A total collected money was about VND18 million at the event.
