43 landmarks to be planted in Vietnam-Lao border line

(Quang Binh Website) - With the determination to implement the project for embellishing and increasing the number of the national landmark system on Vietnam - Lao border line as scheduled, the Standing Committees for landmark planting of Quang Binh (Vietnam), Khammuoune and Sanvannakhet (Laos) provinces have directed relevant units to speed up border landmark planting between Vietnam and Laos.

By the end of May 2011, 43 out of 61 landmarks on Vietnam - Lao border line have been built along common border line of Quang Binh province and the two Lao provinces, in which 9 out of 9 landmarks on Quang Binh - Sanvannakhet border line and 34 out of 52 landmarks on Quang Binh - Khammuoune border line were planted.

Despite difficulties in terrain, Quang Binh province and the two Lao provinces have tried their best to implement the project on building and upgrading more landmarks along the Vietnam-Laos border. They are making efforts to complete the construction of the remaining 18 new border markers, most of them in mountainous terrain.
