Solar cell project for communes in remote and border areas of Quang Binh

(Quang Binh Website) - On the afternoon of June 29, the Quang Binh provincial People’s Committee held a wrap-up meeting with the appraisal mission of the Export-Import Bank ò the Republic of Korea (Korea Eximbank), led by Mr. Ik-Hwan Jang to discuss issues relating to the solar cell project of Quang Binh province.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Quang, Standing Vice-chairman of the provincial People’s Committee (PPC); Mr. Nguyen Dang, Vice-chairman of PPC and leaders of related agencies attended the meeting.

Working with the appraisal mission of the project

The Quang Binh solar cell project has a total investment of USD13,668,000 in aid from ODA capital of the Republic of Korea and the corresponding capital of Vietnam Government. The project will provide electricity for households and socio-economic institutions in 10 western communes of Quang Binh province where are unreachable by the national power grid. The project is scheduled for completion within three years from 2011 to 2013.

At the meeting, Standing Vice-chairman of PPC recorded efforts made by the units and highly valued the effectiveness of implementing the project to socio-economic development in remote communes.

The appraisal mission should collect ideas to adjust and complete the Memorandum of Understanding on the Quang Binh solar cell project, he said. PPC Vice-chairman also undertook that the province would direct related agencies and localities to carry out the project as scheduled plan.

A Memorandum of Understanding on loan was signed between the Korea Eximbank and the Quang Binh provincial People’s Committee on June 30.
