The 4th session of the 16th Provincial People’s Council officially opened

(Quang Binh Website) - The 4th session of the 16th Provincial People’s Council (PPC) was formally opened this morning (November 30) at the hall of the provincial People's Committee. The session was presided over by Mr. Luong Ngoc Binh, Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Council, and members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council.

The session was attended by leaders of the Party, government and provincial Vietnamese Fatherland Front; representatives of agencies and unions at provincial, district and city levels together with deputies of the 16th Provincial People's Council.

Addressing the opening ceremony, PPC Chairman Luong Ngoc Binh stressed that the 4th session would focus on discussing and deciding a wide range of major issues of the province.

In order to achieve good results, he asked that deputies should collect their thoughts; raise their role and responsibility to the people; uphold the democracy; contribute the qualified ideas and put forward practical measures in accordance with the province's socio-economic situation.

Chairman Binh said that deputies should focus on dealing with difficulties and challenges to improve the quality and effectiveness of production and business activities; strengthen management on cultural - social affairs, consolidate national defence and security, maintain social safety and order; make full use of all resources and bring into play internal force to fulfill the targets and tasks set by the provincial People's Council.

The Provincial People's Committee, departments and branches, localities and units should actively coordinate and work out effective measures to timely consider and solve the voters' petitions, the deputies' questions and the issues that the people concerned, he added.

All deputies should contribute their ideas, discuss and put forwards measures to complete the tasks for 2012, creating the premise to successfully implement the socio-economic development plan in the period of 2011-2015, Chairman stressed.

In the first working day, the Provincial People’s Council will hear 22 reports and statements on the situation of implementing tasks for socio-economic development for 2011; the plan on socio-economic development for 2012; activity of the provincial People's Council, People's Court and People's Procuracy; the results of the second session of the 13th National Assembly; the investigation reports made by the Departments of the Provincial People's Council and so on.

The 4th session of the 16th provincial People's Council will be held in four days (from November 30 to December 03) and live broadcast on the Quang Binh Television.
