According to report of the Department of Planning and Investment, in the first eight months, a total area under cultivation for Spring-autumn crop was estimated at nearly 24,000 ha of rice; fishery production reached over 8,000 tons; index of industrial production rose by 5.2% compared with last month and up 12% against the same period last year; industrial production value was estimated at reaching VND2,700 billion, increasing by 9.5% from the same period last year. Total retail sale of goods and services reached over VND1,116 billion; export turnover was estimated at reaching USD8 million; import turnover reached USD3.6 million. Total revenues from State budget in August were estimated at reaching over VND103 billion, raising total revenues in eight months to VND1,000 billion, reached nearly 56% of the plan. As of August 17, total capital mobilization achieved more than VND12,400 billion, up 19% against early year.

A lot of positive changes have been seen in cultural and social fields, security and national defense, healthcare, education and training.

Speaking at the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman asked all departments and branches to focus on harvesting the spring-autumn crop and preparing for the autumn-winter production crop; improving the quality of livestock feeding; keeping close control of epidemic diseases; strengthening work of afforestation and forest protection; taking an initiation in flood prevention; solving difficulties for enterprises according to State regulations and policies; accelerating site clearances and progress of implementing key projects, including the Quang Trach thermo-electric plant and Dong Hoi city environmental sanitation project; paying attention to investment promotion and comprehensively implementing solutions to speed up economic development in September, contributing to fulfilling socio-economic targets of the province.
