Research to build a new train station near General Vo Nguyen Giap’s grave
General Vo Nguyen Giap’s grave in Vung Chua - Yen Island (Quang Trach - Quang Binh)
According to Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang, he has received many ideas to build the train station near General Vo Nguyen Giap’s grave in the past days.
There are thousands of people visiting the General’s grave everyday which makes it a logical to construct, said Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang.
Currently, the railway runs from the north to Quang Binh Province, it will stop at Dong Hoi Train Station. If passengers want to visit the General’s grave, they are forced to travel 60 kilometers after disembarking the train.
If the new station is built, it will only be 5 kilometers away from the grave and will create much more convenience for visitors.
In reply, Mr. Tran Ngoc Thanh, President of the Vietnam Railway Corporation said that the Corporation is currently selecting a suitable site to build the new station near General Vo Nguyen Giap’s grave.
