Import - export turnover via Cha Lo International Border Gate reached more than USD 124 million

 (Quang Binh Portal) - In October of 2017, trade activity via Cha Lo international border gate has seen a high increase. The number of import-export goods was higher than that of the same period last year. Revenue from import tax achieved satisfactory results.
The Management Board of Economic Zones said that import-export turnover in October was an estimate of USD 124.1 million, reached 104% of the same period last year, of which export reached USD 6.3 million, import reached USD 65.3 million, transit reached USD 51.6 million and commodities in a bonded warehouse reached USD 0.9 million.

The commodities via the border gate were an estimate of 189,205 tons, reached 115% of the same period last year, of which some products increased highly such as fruits, buffaloes and cows, etc. Commodity tax via the border gate was VND 3.1 billion, reached 128% from the same period last year; vehicles for exit and entry were 11,190, reached 82%; people for exit and entry were 27,300, reached 82%. Collection from using parking for commodity transport via the border gate from January - October of 2017 was VND 51.2 billion and about VND 5 billion was collected in October alone, a 7.9% increase from the same period last year.

In the past time, in order to achieve the above results, the functional forces of the Cha Lo International Border Gate has strengthened investment in equipment, arranged the forces at the border gate, quickly dealed with procedures for exit and entry, import-export activities in line with the regulations; actively speeded up administrative reform, customs modernization and durations for customs clearance.

Besides, the functional forces has also promoted close collaborations on prevention from smuggling and illegal transport of goods and drugs via the border area.

In the remaining months of the year, many measures will be implemented to strengthen reform of administrative procedures, create favorable conditions for traders in import-export and trading activities in the border areas; apply the efficiency of automated customs clearance system and national one-door mechanism of the Vietnam Automated Cargo and Port Consolidated System and the Vietnam Customs Information System (VNACCS/VCIS) in the implementation of customs procedures, etc.
