Vietnamese expatriate donates 20 tons of rice to flood-hit areas
Pastor Nguyen Xuan Bao and his relief aid group, the Vietnam Protestant Church Association, gave assistance to people in the communes of Van Thuy and Truong Thuy via the Red Cross in Quang Binh Province.
This is the 47th time Pastor Bao has returned to Vietnam to bring relief aid to flood-hit areas and the third time he has been to Quang Binh Province.
Quang Binh has been extremely hard-hit during the two recent floods in Central Vietnam.
Just last week, Typhoon Peipah killed three people while several houses, crops and other property were demolished causing an estimated VND13 billion (US$812,500) in damage.
In related news, Sai Gon Giai Phong has just delivered relief to flood victims in Dien Phong Commune of Quang Nam Province, also in the central region. Each donation is valued at VND200,000 in the form of instant noodles, rice, cooking oil and other things.
