As of January 20 2008, President Tran Duc Luong and his wife visited and made an inspection tour of the progress of executing Dong Hoi Airport. Accompanying Ex-President Tran Duc Luong, there was Provincial People's Committee Chairman Phan Lam Phuong and leading representatives of the Department of Transportation and Provincial People's Committee Secretariat.

After listening representative of the Project Management Board of Dong Hoi Airport briefly reported the progress of implementing the project, Ex-President paid a visit to the units, which are executing the work.

"Dong Hoi airport is an important project, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development and attracting every resources for economic investment and development. Under the plan, Dong Hoi airport would be put into use in late 2007, but many works haven't now been completed yet. Therefore, he asked the province to timely solve difficulties, striving to complete the project and put it into use in late quarter I of 2008", Ex-President said.

Ex-President Tran Duc Luong and his wife also made a visit to Hon La Seaport Industrial Park and Gianh River Cosevco Cement Plant on January 21.
