Tuyen Hoa district: provide a support of over VND3 billion to farmers
(Quang Binh Website) - According to information from the Agricultural Department of Tuyen Hoa district, in the Spring-Winter of 2008-2009, the whole district has 4,150 hectares of area under cultivation, of which rice area of 1,400 hectares, maize of 950 hectares, peanuts of 950 hectares and other vegetables and crops of 850 hectares.
In order to help farmers do seasonal work as scheduled, the District People's Committee extracted over VND2 billion from the district's budget to help farmers purchase seeds and provided a support of VND1 billion to repair the damaged irrigation canals. Besides, the district's agricultural department actively directed the localities to mobilize thousands of working days to dredge and repair all irrigation canals and routes of interior field, ensuring for irrigation and traveling of the farmers. With the great effort of all people and authorities, the whole district cultivated more than 1,000 hectares of rice, 950 hectares of maize and is preparing land for planting peanuts.
