Two top ranking delegations had a talk to inform of the situation of implementing the memorandum of understanding (MoU) which two sides signed in 2012.

At the talk, on behalf of leaders of Quang Binh province, Secretary Luong Ngoc Binh informed Savanakhet delegation of socio-economic situation of Quang Binh province in the past time and reviewed the implementation of MoU which was signed in Kaysone Phomvihane District, Savannakhet Province of Laos in 2012.

Implementing the MoU signed in 2012, two provinces completed the planting of landmark in the field between Viet-Lao borders, contributing to increasing and embellishing Vietnam-Laos national landmarks. Quang Binh province has actively implemented the project of road No.565 via the Chut Mut - Lavon border gate between two provinces of Quang Binh - Savanakhet with a total estimate of around VND900 billion (US$45 million) which is extracted from the government bond capital of Vietnam. The project's duration is estimated to complete in 2014.

In the field of education, Quang Binh has received 05 students of Savanakhet province for studying at Quang Binh University in the academic year of 2012-2013, raising a number of students of Sanvanakhet province to study in Quang Binh to 26 students, Secretary Luong Ngoc Binh added.

Orientations for cooperation in the forthcoming time, two provinces will continue to strengthen the special solidarity as well as friendly and cooperative relations in all fields between Vietnam and Laos in general, Quang Binh and Savannakhet in particular.

On the same day, two top ranking delegations of Quang Binh and Savanakhet held a signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding for 2013.
