Samsung conducts a field survey of project site for hydro-power plant

The meeting was attended by leading representatives of relevant departments and branches.
Under the permission of the government and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, South Korean electronics giant Samsung is planning to invest in Viet Nam's power sector. It has recently conducted a field survey of the project sites for the investment in hydro-power plant in central provinces of Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Quang Binh. Specifically, the 3 projects are under Samsung's radar, including Quynh Lap 2 Power Plant (Nghe An Province), Vung Ang Power Plant 3 (Ha Tinh Province) and Quang Trach 2 Power Plant (Quang Binh Province).
At the meeting, Chairman Nguyen Huu Hoai briefly introduced about Quang Trach hydro-power center project in Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach district and called upon Samsung to invest in construction of Quang Trach 2 hydro-power plant.
After a filed survey of the project site for the investment, a representative of Samsung highly appreciated construction site of hydro-power plant in Quang Dong commune and hoped that the province would create favorable conditions and provide assistance in negotiation with PVN as well as other issues.
After this survey, Samsung will come back again before making a decision for construction investment in hydro-power plant in Quang Dong.
