From early in the morning, thousands of local people and tourists were present in two banks of the Kien Giang River with the flags and slogans to cheer for the racing teams.
Attending this year's festival, there were 22 male racing boats and 8 female racing boats with the participation of nearly 1,000 athletes coming from Loc Thuy, Phong Thuy, Lien Thuy, An Thuy, Xuan Thuy, Son Thuy and Mai Thuy communes and Kien Giang town.

Competition was divided into two groups (A&B) with the race's length of 24km for male boats and 18km for female boats.

Presenting prizes to racing boats

Closing the race, Thuong Phong village's racing boat (Phong Thuy commune) won the first prize, racing boats of Dai Phong village (Phong Thuy commune) and An Xa village (Loc Thuy commune) won the second and third respectively.

Reportedly, this is the 51th boat racing festival on Kien Giang River, attracting the attention of thousands of local people and tourists, contributing to creating a jubilant and exciting atmosphere in commemoration of the National Day September 02.
