Sovandara Yin, First Secretary of the Political Committee of US Embassy in Vietnam visits Quang Binh

 (Quang Binh Portal) - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People"s Committee Tran Tien Dung on March 20 had a reception with a delegation from the United States Embassy in Vietnam, led by Mr. Sovandara Yin, First Secretary of the Political Committee of the US Embassy to discuss the disposal of landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO) after the war through the MAG Quang Binh project.

At the reception, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly valued operational results of MAG Quang Binh project funded by the US Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Quang Binh is the land where suffered many heavy war consequences caused by landmines and UXO, he said.

On behalf of provincial leader, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged assistances of the US Ministry of Foreign Affairs for local socio-economic development in general and social security in particular. He hoped the province would continue receiving cooperation and supports in the coming time.

In turns, Mr. Sovandara Yin thanked for warm reception of the province and hoped that in the coming time, Quang Binh and Quang Tri provinces would strengthen exchanges and share experience in landmine clearances as well as take part in the landmine and UXO clearance project carried out by the Golden West Humanitarian Foundation.

On the same day, the delegation paid a visit to MAG Quang Binh project in Cu Nam and Van Trach communes (Bo Trach district).
