The program was also attended by representatives of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism; leaders of Sun Group and Sun PhuQuoc Airways; representatives of the tourism associations of Khanh Hoa and Quang Tri provinces; and investors and tourism businesses from Khanh Hoa, Quang Ngai, Da Nang, Hue, and other provinces and cities.

The Dong Hoi - Nha Trang round-trip route operated by Sun PhuQuoc Airways was officially launched on the afternoon of August 16, 2026. The new route not only shortens the geographical distance and facilitates travel for local residents and tourists, but also opens up new opportunities to connect marine and island tourism with heritage tourism, connect businesses and expand tourism markets, and promote economic, trade, and investment cooperation as well as cultural exchanges between Quang Tri and Khanh Hoa provinces and throughout the region.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Hoang Nam, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, expressed his sincere appreciation to the leaders of Khanh Hoa Province for their goodwill and responsible cooperation with Quang Tri. He also expressed his appreciation to Sun Group and Sun PhuQuoc Airways for their commitment to investing in and launching new air routes to Quang Tri.

Permanent Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam emphasized that Quang Tri and Khanh Hoa are two culturally rich Central Vietnamese regions with resilient, warm-hearted people who share a strong aspiration for development. Both provinces face the sea and identify tourism, services, the marine economy, and connectivity as important drivers of development.

One is the “green pearl bay” of the South Central Coast, while the other is the “land of heritage and peace” at the gateway to the North Central Coast. These differences create complementary strengths and open up significant opportunities for cooperation between the two localities.

Permanent Vice Chairman Hoang Nam expressed his confidence that in the coming period, the two provinces will establish more regular and substantive cooperation programs; jointly develop inter-regional tourism products and tours; exchange visitor flows; cooperate in culture, trade, and services; connect businesses and investors; and coordinate promotional activities in domestic and international markets.

Permanent Vice Chairman Hoang Nam also affirmed that Quang Tri Province is committed to continuing to provide responsible support and favorable conditions for Sun Group, Sun PhuQuoc Airways, and the business community to invest and operate effectively in the province. At the same time, the province hopes that the cooperation between Quang Tri, Khanh Hoa, and Sun Group will not be built merely around an air route, a project, or an event, but will develop into a long-term partnership based on shared opportunities, value creation, and mutual development.

On this occasion, leaders of Quang Tri and Khanh Hoa provinces, together with Sun Group and Sun PhuQuoc Airways, exchanged commemorative gifts, marking the special significance of the first flight connecting the two destinations with great tourism potential, Khanh Hoa and Quang Tri.
