Various activities mark Truong Son troops’ traditional day
A delegation from the Truong Son-Ho Chi Minh Trail Tradition Association recently took part in the “return to the roots” trip to provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Ha Tinh, as part of activities to mark the 54th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh Trail and founding anniversary of Truong Son troops (May 19th, 1959).
During the four-day trip, the delegation offered incense at Uncle Ho Temple and at the Truong Son national Martyrs’ Cemetery, exchanged with youths of Brigade 384 and worked with leaders of Quang Binh provincial Party Committee and People’s Committee and the Association’s branches.
Established under the decision of the Ministry of Home Affairs, over the past two years, the social organization with 300,000 members has actively worked with relevant agencies to repair and rebuild historical relics along Ho Chi Minh Trail, build 737 houses of gratitude and organized activities to help its needy members.
On the occasion, leaders of the Central Committee of the Association worked with localities and specialized agencies to prepare for the construction of the project, “Doi hoa trang (white flower hill) Park – Temple”, with total area of 7 hectares and an estimated cost of VND 20 billion, to commemorate young heroic martyr.
