(Quang Binh Website) - Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Hoai on March 28 had a meeting with the PanAust Asia Company (Australia) to discuss the transport of goods in transit from Laos to a third country via the Hon La port.

The PanAust Asia Company is currently mining and processing copper ore in Laos and exporting to India, China and South Korea countries.

In the past time, the PanAust Asia has exported minerals from Laos through the Vung Ang port (Ha Tinh). However, after surveying road system and Hon La port, it is realized that transport of goods through the Hon La port is much more convenient than the Vung Ang port.

Accordingly, the PanAust Asia Company will carry out a pilot transport of copper ore from Laos via the Cha Lo International Border Gate to the Hon La port for exporting to other countries in the forthcoming time. As estimated, the Company will transport about 300,000 tons of goods through the Hon La port in 2014.

PanAust Asia will invest in building infrastructures in the Cha Lo International Border Gate and the Hon La port to serve the transport and export of goods, and hopes that the province will provide a support for the company in the process of implementation, according to the PanAust Asia Company.

On behalf of provincial leader, PPC Chairman Nguyen Huu Hoai applauded the PanAust Asia Company's visit to Quang Binh to learn about tranport of goods and said that the province will create favorable conditions for the company to transport, maintain and export goods via the Hon La port.

The PanAust Asia Company is required to strictly execute regulations on environment protection and ensure traffic safety in its business activities, Chairman Nguyen Huu Hoai said.
