Report on operational results of FCPF-REDD+ project in nine months
In 2015, total expenditures from source of aids for the project is more than VND2,196 billion, of which VND605,635 million was reimbursed for the components in the first nine months.
Concretely, the components included suport for building policies, development of technical capacities for REDD+ implementation at national and provincial levels; support for improving awareness, strengthening capacities and consultation for relevant stakeholders, meeting demands of safeguards, information exchange and experience in REDD+ implementation in the area; and project management, monitoring and evaluation.
Besides, the Provincial Project Management Board also organized six training courses to improve awareness of climate change, REDD+ initiatives for cardes at all levels, rangers and local communities; conducted mobile propaganda on forest protection and management, climate change and REDD+; opened training courses to build a staff for FPIC (Free, Prior and Informed Consent) at grassroot level.
As planned, the Provincial Project Management Board will continue dissemination works to improve awareness of climate change and REDD+; open workshops on Payments for Forest Ecosystem Services (PFES) programme and REDD+; build Vietnam Forest Protection & Development Fund (VNFF); coordinate to form a Provincial REDD+ Action Plan (PRAP)...
Reportedly, Quang Binh province is regarded as a locality taking the lead in accessing to activities of FCPF-REDD+ project in Vietnam.
