(Quang Binh Portal) - The provincial People"s Committee on October 20 approved Decision No.3713/QD-UBND on recognition of Tron village massacre, Van Trach commune (Bo Trach distric) as a provincial level historical relic site.
The massacre in Tron village was the place in which 68 civilians were killed and 16 were injured by the American army on December 5th, 1967.

This is the evidence of war crimes committed by the American imperialists to the people nationwide in general and Quang Binh people in particular in the unjust war.

The massacre in Tron village also displayed the great ambitions of aggression, conspiracies and tricks of the American imperialism in the late twentieth century.

The provincial People's Committee prohibites all constructions and operations in the protected relic site. In a special case of using land in the relic area, it must be agreed in document by the Provincial People's Committee.

In addition, the provincial People's Committee asked Bo Trach district, Van Trach commune and the Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism to implement State management on this historical relic site in accordance with the law's regulations.

The decision comes into effect as from October 20th, 2017.
