Cooperation in research and discovery of caves in Quang Binh

(Quang Binh Portal) - On the afternoon of June 29, 2022 (local time), in London, United Kingdom, within the framework of the Vietnam-United Kingdom High-Level Forum, a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in research, survey, and discovery of caves in Quang Binh was awarded under the witness of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Vu Dai Thang, Vice Chairman of Quang Binh Provincial People"s Committee Ho An Phong and Mr. Howard Limbert, the expert of the cave expedition of the Association of British Cave Research.

Accordingly, the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in research, survey, and discovery of caves in Quang Binh aims at serving the conservation of natural values and promoting tourism development in Quang Binh province.

It is known that the cave expedition of the British Cave Research Association has over 30 years of research and exploration in caves in Vietnam in general and Quang Binh province in particular. The association discovered hundreds of caves; especially Son Doong cave, the world's largest cave, which was officially discovered in 2009.
The great efforts of the British Cave Research Association have contributed to helping Quang Binh become famous as the "Kingdom of Caves" with unique adventure tourism products; at the same time, making Quang Binh an attractive destination for domestic and international tourists.
