Restore and promote values of historical - cultural relics

(Quang Binh Portal) - In the third quarter of 2015, the Cultural and Social Board of the Provincial People"s Committee has conducted a survey of management, restoration and promotion of values of historical - cultural relics in the province.
According to survey results, the province currently has 104 relics recognized, in which 51 relics are recognized at national level and 53 relics recognized at provincial level.

Relics and landscapes include many different types with 96 historical relics, 3 relics of architecture and arts, 2 archaeological relics and 3 relics of landscapes. Especially, Phong Nha - Ke Bang landscape was recognized as a world natural heritage.

In the past years, more than 64 relics have been restored and repaired with a total expenditure of VND 96 billion, in which more than VND 52 billion has been collected from organizations and individuals. Some relics have been embellished with large investment, such as Hoang Phuc pagoda with more than VND40 billion, Thuan Bai communal house with more than VND 4 billion, Len Ha cave VND 1.1 billion, Hoa Ninh communal house VND 400 million.

After being restored, many relics have become tourism destinations, meeting the demand for visiting and researching, such as Phong Nha - Xuan Son relic complex, Hoanh Son Gate - Lieu Hanh Princess relic complex, Quang Binh Gate - Dong Hoi Rampart - Suot Mother Statue relic complex, Nguyen Huu Canh temple, Tam Co cave, Len Ha cave, Than Dinh mountain, etc.

In the forthcoming time, in order to promote values of historical - cultural relics, the provincial People's Committee focuses on directing the department concerned to check and total up number of important relics for strict protection, annually allocate the budget for preservation and restoration of downgraded relics; strengthen law dissemination of cultural heritage in general and regulations on preservation, restoration and promotion of relic values in the province.
