Quang Binh promotes investment, trade, tourism, and science & technology in Switzerland

(Quang Binh Portal) - On June 10, 2025 (local time), in Zurich, Switzerland, the Quang Binh delegation led by Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Doan Ngoc Lam, attended a seminar titled “Vietnam - Switzerland Comprehensive Partnership: Cooperation Potential Between Swiss and Vietnamese Localities.”

The seminar was attended by Ambassador of Viet Nam to Switzerland Phung The Long; former Vice Chancellor of Germany and Chairman of the Vietnam–Switzerland Economic Forum, Dr. Philipp Rösler; Deputy Director General of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Cultural Diplomacy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Dong Trung; and leaders of the People’s Committees from the provinces and cities of Quang Binh, Bac Lieu, Vinh Long, Hue, and Phu Yen.

From Quang Binh delegation, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council Nguyen Cong Huan attended the seminar along with representatives from the Office of the Provincial People’s Committee and the Departments of Culture-Sports and Tourism, Finance, and Science and Technology.

The program was jointly organized by the Embassy of Viet Nam in Switzerland, the Vietnam - Switzerland Economic Forum, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Cultural Diplomacy (Ministry of Foreign Affairs), and the People's Committees of the provinces of Quang Binh, Bac Lieu, Vinh Long, Phu Yen, and the city of Hue.

The seminar served as an important platform for sharing information and connecting Swiss businesses and organizations with Vietnamese provinces and cities. It provided opportunities to promote destinations and facilitate investment in line with each locality’s development priorities, bringing Swiss and European investors closer to Vietnamese regions.

In his remarks, Permanent Vice Chairman Doan Ngoc Lam presented the province’s strengths and potential, planning initiatives, green development orientation, sustainable development goals, tourist destinations, and investment-attraction projects across various sectors. Specifically, he highlighted opportunities in technical infrastructure development; tourism (including tourism infrastructure and green tourism); renewable energy; agriculture; trade; science and technology; and digital transformation in both Quang Binh and the newly established Quang Tri Province.

On behalf of the provincial leadership, he affirmed the viewpoint: “The success and development of businesses is also the success and development of the province,” and emphasized that Quang Binh always welcomes investors and is committed to providing the most favorable conditions to help turn their ideas and the province’s development goals into reality.

Vice Chairman Lam also proposed that Switzerland cooperate and support in several areas, including: investment promotion and attraction, destination marketing, cultural and sports exchanges, cultural preservation linked to tourism development, development of cultural industries and green tourism, knowledge sharing, and the training and upskilling of human resources.

Quang Binh delegation engages in bilateral meetings with Swiss partners

As part of the program, the Quang Binh delegation held bilateral meetings with the Vietnam-Switzerland Economic Forum and international partners. The delegation also met with representatives from Janzz.technology to discuss piloting an integrated labor market solution, and with Maius GmbH to explore structured financial solutions supporting local development projects.

Participation in the seminar and meetings with Swiss partners marks an important step in advancing strategic investment promotion in fields such as tourism, renewable energy, high-tech agriculture, processing industries, marine economy, and logistics. It also aims to expand the export markets of Quang Binh and the newly established Quang Tri Province to the European region in the near future.
