The Vallet Scholarship is awarded to outstanding pupils and students and funded by Professor Odon Vallet of Sorbonne University, France, through the Rencontres du Vietnam Association for Science and Education, chaired by Professor Tran Thanh Van. Having inherited a substantial fortune, Professor Odon Vallet chose not to use it for personal purposes. Instead, he deposited the money in a bank and entrusted part of it to the Rencontres du Vietnam Association for Science and Education to provide scholarships to high-achieving young people in Africa and Vietnam, including Vietnamese pupils and students studying in France.
