Lighting candles in tribute to heroic martyrs at the Ba Doc martyrs’ cemetery

(Quang Binh Website) - An incense-offering ceremony was held at the Ba Doc martyrs’ cemetery (Ly Trach commune, Bo Trach district) on the evening of July 26 to mark the 67th anniversary of War Invalids’ and Martyrs’ Day (July 27th 1947 - July 27th 2014).

The ceremony was jointly organized by the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee.

Among the attendants were Mr. Luong Ngoc Binh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; Ms. Truong Thi Mai, Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairwoman of Committee for Social Affairs; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Quang, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee and Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee; representatives of agencies, unions and localities together with more than 1,400 members of the youth union in the province.

At the ceremony, after a minute of silence in commemoration of heroic martyrs, leaders and youths stroke a bell, laid a wreath, offered incense and lighted candle at the tombs.

Reportedly, this is an annual activity to express the deep gratitude of young generations to heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the national struggle for independence and freedom.
