Incense-offering ceremony at the Ba Doc Martyrs Cemetery

(Quang Binh Website) - On the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs’ Day (July 27 1947 - July 27 2009), the provincial Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs in cooperation with the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union held a ceremony to offer incense and lit grateful candles to commemorate revolutionary martyrs at the Ba Doc Martyrs Cemetery in the evening of July 26 2009.

The ceremony was attended by Luong Ngoc Binh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; Phan Lam Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Nguyen Hoang Hiep, Secretary of the Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People's Committee and Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Binh province; representative of departments and branches together with leaders of Bo Trach district, families of war invalids and martyrs and more than 1,500 excellent union members and youths in the whole province.

Delegations offer flowers and incense to commemorate revolutionary martyrs

Addressing the ceremony, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Ho An Phong reviewed the tradition of heroic struggle for the nation's independence and freedom of soldiers in two resistance wars against French and American aggressions; concurrently expressed the deep gratitude of young people to previous generation who sacrificed their lives for the Fatherland.

At the ceremony, delegations offered flowers, burned incenses and donated to “Paying the Debt of Gratitude” Fund in order to contribute to heal the pain of the war for the martyrs’ relative.

Knowing that at the same time, the candle-burning ceremony was also held in 81 cemeteries in the whole province. This is a meaningful activity to educate young people of the revolutionary tradition, patriotism and nation's pride, contributing to help young generation raise their responsibility in the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland.
