Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Le Thanh Hai visits A Rem ethnic minority people

On October 29 morning, the mission visited A Rem ethnic minority people in Tan Trach commune, Bo Trach district. Together with Khua ethnic minority people in Ra Mai village, Trong Hoa commune, Minh Hoa district, A Rem ethnic minority people have been regularly supported according to Program on socio-economic development cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and Quang Binh province. From 2003 to 2005, Ho Chi Minh City has provided over VND3 billion for Tan Trach commune to invest in building 47 houses for ethnic minority people, building medical station and radiobroadcast station, issuing medicine for medical treatment, supporting production and improving the people’s life. In this visit, the mission donated VND5 billion to Tan Trach commune to build infrastructure and present gifts to ethnic minority people in the area.

Giving  gifts to A Rem ethnic minority people

At the same day, the mission had a working session with the Provincial People’s Committee to preliminary sum up the implementation of the Program on socio-economic development cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and Quang Binh province. After five years of implementation, many encouraging results have been seen in agricultural production, tourism, investment promotion, health, education and other social fields...

In order to increase the effectiveness of implementation of the cooperation program in the coming time, two localities should continue to bring into play the obtained results in the past time; introduce investors and enterprises to invest in socio-economic development in all fields of agriculture, industry, tourism, hotel and trade.

A preliminary summing-up meeting for socio-economic cooperation between Quang Binh province and Ho Chi Minh City

Addressing the working, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Le Thanh Hai highly appraised obtained results in the process of socio-economic development cooperation between two localities and ordered departments and agencies of two localities to further promote cooperation in all fields.

On this occasion, Chairman of the Quang Binh Provincial People’s Committee granted Certificate of Merit to 7 units, namely the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee, A Chau Commercial Joint-stock Bank, Masan Industrial Joint-stock Company, Phuong Nam Bank, Daso Company.Ltd, Sai Gon Commercial Joint-stock Bank and Sai Gon Tourism Joint-stock Company, for their excellent achievements in support of building houses, deleting thatched cottages for poor households, improving production and life for ethnic minority people in Quang Binh province.

In this visit, the mission of Ho Chi Minh City also donated VND1 billion to Quang Binh province to contribute to overcome heavy consequences caused by Storm No.9.
