At the working, representative of the People’s Committee of Dong Hoi City presented the report on implementing of socio-economic development plan and budget estimate of 2009. In the past time, the city’s socio-economic situation gained a remarkable achievements, the economic growth rate was estimated increasing by 14% against the year 2008; economic structure shifted onto right orientation: industry - construction achieved 41.3%, service 52.2% and agriculture - forestry - fishery 6.2%; the industry - handicraft production value was estimated increasing by 14% against the year 2008; agriculture - forestry - fishery production value was estimated increasing by 5.2% against the year 2008; the total budget receipts were estimated at VND171 billion, achieved 100.5% of the city’s forecast and reached 111.8% of the province’s forecast; the total spending from the budget was estimated at VND173 billion; export turnover was estimated achieving US$50 million, equaling 88.4% against the year 2008 and 83.3% against the plan; average income per capital achieved US$1,060, increased by 8.2% of the year 2008. Social and cultural fields have been seen many positive changes. National defence and security have been upheld.

For orientations for socio-economic development of year 2010, Dong Hoi City put forward solutions to implement socio-economic development plan in all fields, strive to achieve economic growth rate of 14-15% against the year 2009; the total budget receipts were estimated at VND184 billion, increased 7.4% against the year 2009. The People’s Committee of Dong Hoi City also proposed some petitions to create favorable conditions for the implementation of the socio-economic development plan for the year 2010 and the following years.

Addressing the working, Vice-chairman Nguyen Dang praised the results that Dong Hoi City obtained in implementing the socio-economic development plan of 2009 and asked the People’s Committee of Dong Hoi City to pay attention to some main issues for socio-economic development in the coming time and closely coordinate with related departments and agencies to solve difficulties and complete the assigned tasks.
