In order to strengthen special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation, senior delegations of two provinces had a talk on December 17.

At the talks, two sides informed each other of the socio-economic situations, national defence and security, work of building the Party, authorities, fronts and unions in their respective province and reviewed the implementation of friendly cooperation agreement signed in Dong Hoi city (Quang Binh province) on August 25, 2011.

Two sides discussed and exchanged views on cooperation agreement in 2013 with the following contents.

Two sides will continue maintaining a periodic exchange between the high-ranking delegations of two provinces; creating favorable conditions for the Parties, authorities, agencies and unions of two provinces to study and exchange experience; strengthening special friendly tradition between Vietnam and Laos in general and Quang Binh and Khammouane in particular.

Two provinces agreed on cooperation in conservation and development of biological diversity and world heritage value in the period of 2013-2015 with a vision till 2020.

Quang Binh province also exchanged views on creating all favorable conditions and assisting students of Khammuoane province in their study in Quang Binh province; helping Khammouane province upgrade and expand the Viet-Lao Quang Binh-Khammouane friendly school in 2013.

Two provinces also will closely coordinate and create condition to speed up the progress of building a guest house of Khammouane province in Quang Phu commune, Dong Hoi city; improve the management efficiency of land area which Khammouane province allocated to Quang Binh province in Thakhet town.

Two sides will build a border line of peace, friendship, stability, cooperation and development; strengthen exchange information and have a close combination to control smuggling prevention and illegal immigration; closely coordinate in the fight against plots of hostile forces and reactionary viewpoints.

Two sides also shared views on completing the master plan on embellishment of the Vietnam-Laos border landmark system (border section of Quang Binh - Khammuoane) and helping the search team No.589 under the Quang Binh provincial military command seek and repatriate sets of remains of Vietnamese martyrs and experts who sacrificed their lives while fulfilling their international obligation in Laos.

On behalf of senior delegation of Quang Binh province, Secretary Luong Ngoc Binh thanked leaders of Khammouane province for a warm reception and invited high-ranking delegation of Khammouane province to pay an official visit to Quang Binh.
